Frequently Asked Questions About RV Rentals
Q. What are the driver requirements?
The primary renter must be at least 25-years old, have a valid driver's license and no major violations on their driving record. Additional drivers must be at least 25-years old, and present their valid driver's license in person at the time of unit pick-up.
Q. What are your Rental Center office hours?
You may check availability and reserve an RV by phone or in person, Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm or Saturday, 8am to noon.
Q. How do I pay for the rental?
We accept all forms of payment.
Q. Where can I drive the units?
You can drive anywhere in the Continental US and Canada.
Q. How will I know how to operate all the appliances and electronics that an RV comes with?
A thorough walkthrough is provided upon checkout. Expect to spend approximately 45 mins for this walkthrough.
Q. Is a down payment or security deposit required?
Reservations require a refundable credit card payment of $500. The $500 deposit is refundable, minus any applicable charges-mileage, generator time, cleaning charges, fuel charges, septic dump charges, and/or any damages. The deposit is not deducted from the charges, we hold it and will refund it (minus any charges that may apply) within 10 business days after the return of the unit.
Q. Do I provide my own insurance?
Yes, if the renters insurance provider covers Motorhome Rentals the insurance company can fax or email us a binder. The information the insurance company will need will be included in the rental reservation confirmation email that will be sent after a reservation is made. Renters can be added to our policy if your insurance does not cover Motorhome rentals for $27/day plus a $10 application fee.
Q. What cleaning options do I have when I return the RV?
If the unit is not cleaned, there will be a cleaning fee of $120 for inside and/or $120 for outside, there is a prepaid cleaning fee of $85 for inside and $85 for outside if you do not wish to clean the unit. If tanks are not dumped there will be a dump fee of $57.50 per tank, there is a prepaid dump fee of $57.50 for all tanks if you do not wish to dump the tanks.
Q. Can I smoke in the RV?
NO! SMOKING IS ABSOLUTELY PROHIBITED.
Q. Can we use the roof to transport luggage or to get a better view?
Ladders on rental units are for use by Stony RV technicians only. Customers are not allowed on roofs and will be held responsible for any roof or awning damage.
Q. What happens if I receive a traffic ticket or parking citation?
Customers are responsible for reporting and payment of all parking and traffic violations at rental termination. Non-reporting of parking and traffic violations breaches the Rental Contract.
Q. What constitutes a "Rental Day"?
Similar to a hotel, the Rental Day is based on the number of nights the vehicle is out.
Q. What is the rental unit return policy?
All units are due back by 10:00am on the scheduled return date.
Q. Besides the rental cost, what other charges will I incur?
You get 100 miles per day for free and will be charged .35/mile for any extra mileage. You will get 5 hours per day of generator time for free, anything over that will be $10.00/hr. If the unit is not brought back clean, there is a cleaning fee of $120 for inside and/or $120 for outside. If tanks are not dumped there will be a dump fee of $57.50 per tank. If the fuel is not filled there will be a fuel charge of $5.50/gallon. Deductibles for any damages-please be aware that the deductible for our insurance policy (MBA insurance) is $1000, we only charge a $500 deposit, so you will be charged the additional $500 (in addition to any other charges) to cover the deductible in the case of an accident. Toll charges are the renters responsibility. Our units are due back by 10:00 a.m. on the due date, if they are not brought back by that time you will be charged for another day. The applicable taxes are 9.5% sales tax, 1% tourism tax, and 5% rental tax.
